ABOUT ME

I never paid too much attention to the night sky as a child. Perhaps because I was more likely to be found with my head in a book or playing video games with my brother. I was a very cerebral child; I excelled in school, was (usually) obedient with piano lessons, loved art, and was involved in various sports and activities.  As I grew older, my focus shifted from art and music and honed in on math and science, and I eventually graduated with a degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics from UCLA.

Throughout college, I did all of the things I thought I was “supposed” to do as a science major, such as academic lab research and mentorship. I wasn’t passionate about what I was doing, but I continued to follow the script. Upon graduation, I accepted a job with a major biomedical company in their sales department, settling for working with people in a way that allowed me to avoid laboratory work while still applying my degree, which gave me a level of satisfaction.

Post-graduate life opened up an entirely new world for me. My aunt, a practicing astrologer, gifted me a reading as a graduation present, and she recommended Steven Forrest’s The Inner Sky for further study.

 I was hooked.

I barely slept the first night that I opened the book (very unusual for my Taurus Moon!) because my mind was making an incredible amount of new neural connections, bursting with epiphanies. I had never experienced this level of curiosity about a subject matter before.

After a year of self-study, in which I began exploring the works of Steven Forrest and Stephen Arroyo, I decided it was time for a more structured approach to astrology. I stumbled across the very first cohort of Astrology University’s four year professional astrologer program. Studying astrology facilitated the realization of the difference between learning and understanding. I had been successful academically because I was good at test-taking and rote memorization, and the traditional approach to schooling in the United States worked for me. I could regurgitate what I was taught, which helped me successfully complete my degree in Microbiology. But astrology allowed me to begin to more fully utilize my creative potential with my academic accomplishments for the first time. I was able to contribute something authentic and new, expounding upon what I’d learned rather than simply restating what had been taught.

At the end of my first year, I was invited by Tony Howard to work as a Teaching Assistant to help provide homework feedback to the incoming class of students. I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to develop my coaching skills while helping others develop their astrological language. It is an absolute joy to work with Tony and the rest of the staff at Astrology University.

In May of 2022, during an especially potent round of eclipses, I decided it was time to leave my corporate sales position due to the increasing discomfort I was feeling with the lack of meaning in my daily work. I took a leap of faith, pushing myself far beyond my comfort zone by abandoning my known securities in order to pursue a more authentic relationship with myself. I am now working part-time as a psychiatric associate in Inpatient Mental Health at a local hospital, in addition to doing pet-sitting! Caretaking of both animals and humans is very fulfilling, and is helping me to experience a stronger sense of meaning that I was missing out on in my professional interactions with the world.

Ultimately, I am moving towards working as a counselor and consultant professionally.

My intention is to use astrology to help others feel empowered with their own life decisions. Through understanding one’s unique journey, separate from familial and societal conditioning, we can start to feel more connected to our own purpose. I use astrology to help you find your own answers; those that already lie within. Through examining your innate nature, as well as the conditions that are currently influencing your life, we can work together to create a sense of structure and support so that you may feel more clarity. I am especially interested in family dynamics and the process of self-individuation. 1:1 consultations are the best way to hold a creative, healing space to explore these inner dynamics. I hope that you choose to participate in this beautiful transformational process with me.

MY PRACTICE

I practice modern, humanistic astrology, focusing on creating a therapeutic healing space that allows for the conversation to emphasize your lived experiences and how they have shaped the expression of your potential as seen through the birthchart. I encourage new clients to tell me about themselves and what brings them to the session, so that we can have a co-creative conversation around where you are in this moment in time, utilizing the birthchart for context.

It is important to note that I am not a licensed therapist, but a student of psychology receiving psychotherapy and mentorship from licensed psychotherapists. Each conversation is transformative— those that I have within my own therapy as well as those that I have with clients through consultations. Astrology is a beautifully reflective tool that opens up a deeper connection to ourselves, as well as others. We'll focus our conversation on which developmental lessons are active at this time in your life based on what you’re experiencing, and we’ll discuss how you might engage with these situations in a matter that reflects and honors your core needs and values.

With astrology, everything is potential— nothing is determined. There are endless variations of the same theme that will emerge, but each moment in time is uniquely separate from the last, offering new opportunities to engage with the cycles of life. The purpose of my sessions are to illuminate the archetypal potentials that exist during this period of transformation, to leave you to further reflect on what resonates with you within the deepest aspects of your soul. The final decision should always be made by yourself, not the practitioner. Listen to what resonates in your heart, for it is your life to live, and you alone uniquely inhabit this moment in time.
